Here we are, loaded into Lars's Grand Caravan, many hours into our trip, with many more ahead. We left Austin as President Obama arrived....along with throngs of SXSW-goers. Happy to have some of them as Air Bnb guests in our house!
Miles and miles of Texas. Yawn. Thank goodness for Lars the Road Warrior.
Stopped in scenic Fort Stockton for dinner - the joint was hopping. I (Mom/Deirdre) was so happy to see quite a few salads on the menu. My dreams were crushed when I saw them bringing bottles of generic Ranch and Thousand Island (THOUSAND ISLAND!) dressing to other tables. I used salsa for my dressing. The boys were happy to see their plates - Hart got stacked cheese enchiladas, Rune got one beef, two cheese. They looked good....
But the verdict was....well....they can tell you themselves. Here, the first "re-cap V-log" of this epic road trip.
